Agree on your wedding photographer’s photo delivery

Know what to ask your wedding photographer before gallery delivery. Check file formats, download access, sharing permissions and backups alongside guest photos.

Short answer

Collect the photographer’s finished work through the delivery method you agreed with them. Keep that edited gallery distinct from guest submissions, download the delivered files before access expires and preserve a backup. WeddingPhoto App collects guest photos; it does not replace a photographer’s editing, proofing or contractual delivery process.

Confirm the delivery details directly

Ask when to expect the finished gallery, whether previews arrive earlier and which files the delivery includes. Clarify the difference between files intended for web sharing and those intended for printing. Do not assume that receiving a gallery link means receiving every original camera file.

Record the download deadline and the contact to use if you cannot access the gallery. Discuss any questions about reuse or printing with your photographer using your agreement. A photo-sharing app cannot expand permissions you have not been given.

Check the download before distributing it

  1. Open the delivered link and confirm it belongs to your wedding.
  2. Download the available package to a device with enough space.
  3. Extract the archive and open several images from different parts of the day.
  4. Check that the file sizes and dimensions match the delivery you discussed.
  5. Save a second copy separately before deleting temporary downloads.

Keep professional and guest collections easy to understand

Name folders clearly, such as “Photographer delivery” and “Guest photos.” Preserve the photographer’s filenames in the original set, and make a working copy for your own selection. Guests’ pictures may include different edits, duplicates and short clips; keeping them separate makes the finished professional story easier to find.

Use the guest album for the other perspectives

WeddingPhoto App is our best overall recommendation for collecting those guest files. Guests upload selected photos and videos without accounts, and hosts can review, share and download the collection. It is useful for table pictures, preparations and the moments people captured outside the photographer’s coverage.

Only upload professional files into another gallery when you have permission and a reason to do so. Sharing the photographer’s approved viewing link may be simpler than duplicating a large collection. If you combine highlights later, keep the original delivered set intact.

Send family the right link

A message can identify the two destinations: “Here is the photographer’s finished gallery. If you took your own pictures, please add them to our guest collection.” That avoids people searching for an upload button in a viewing-only gallery.

Make the ask easy

Collect the photos guests actually took.

Give guests one QR code, let them upload from the browser, and keep the gallery under your control. Photos, videos, late uploads, and one download when you are ready.
