Wedding Photo Booth Cost: Real Quotes, Extras & Alternatives

Compare published photo booth package examples and calculate your full quote. Separate operating hours, prints, attendants, travel, overtime and digital collection.

Short answer

A wedding photo booth quote depends on the equipment, operating hours, staffing, prints and location. The published examples below range from $600 to $1,399 for three hours, but they are different local packages—not a national average or a quote for your date.

Three published package examples

Prices checked September 12, 2026 on the suppliers' own pages. These are advertised packages in different markets, with different inclusions. Availability, taxes and final charges need a written quote.

Calculate the full quote

The inputs below are a hypothetical example. Replace them with one supplier's written figures; do not mix the base price from one company with another company's extras.

Total: $800.00 · effective cost per operating hour: $266.67. That hourly calculation is for comparison, not the supplier's overtime rate.

Ask what every line buys

  • Duration: operating time versus arrival, setup, idle time and teardown.
  • Attendant: continuous help or setup-only support.
  • Print package: size, copies per session and whether the couple receives a duplicate.
  • Backdrop and props: included options versus upgrades.
  • Branding: template changes versus a fully custom design.
  • Travel and overtime: mileage, parking, stairs, late finish and extra-hour rates.
  • Digital delivery: gallery deadline, download format and whether video is included.

Digital-only, 360 and DIY are different purchases

A digital-only booth avoids print consumables but still needs a camera or tablet, lighting, support and delivery. A 360 platform adds a moving capture setup and a space requirement; compare its actual video deliverables. A DIY phone corner shifts setup and troubleshooting to your own helper.

For instant cameras, calculate film from intended exposures plus a retry allowance. For QR collection, budget for hosting and signs, but do not pretend it supplies booth lighting, a camera operator or printed strips. See the activity comparison before choosing only by price.

Compare coverage, not a promise of more photographs

A booth records people who visit it during its operating window. Guests' phones can capture other places and times, but uploads depend on people choosing to contribute. Neither a package price nor a guest count proves how many useful images you will receive.

If you want both, place a gallery sign near the booth so guests can also share their own pictures. Keep the booth spend and the gallery spend separate in your budget workbook.

Make the ask easy

Collect the photos guests actually took.

Give guests one QR code, let them upload from the browser, and keep the gallery under your control. Photos, videos, late uploads, and one download when you are ready.

Frequently asked questions

Is a QR gallery cheaper than a photo booth?

It may cost less, but it performs a different job. A gallery collects files from guests' phones; a staffed booth supplies a dedicated capture experience, equipment and often prints.

Are unlimited prints really unlimited?

Ask how many copies are provided per session or person and what the operating window is. Unlimited sessions during three hours do not mean unlimited operating time.

Should we book the booth for the whole reception?

Check when guests can actually use it. Dinner, speeches and room transitions can create idle time. Ask whether setup or an idle period counts against paid operation.
